Local Government Needs in the 88th District: Borough and Township Vacancies

Mechanicsburg Borough
Currently, Mechanicsburg Borough does not have any open seats on boards or commissions.

New Cumberland Borough
Currently, New Cumberland Borough does not have any open seats on boards or commissions.

Shiremanstown Borough
Residents are encouraged to check for updates if they are interested in serving on a board or commission. Open positions are currently being confirmed.

Hampden Township
Hampden Township continues to seek volunteers.

Openings exist on the following boards, commissions and committees:
  • Golf Advisory Board
  • Civil Service Commission
  • Industrial Development Authority
  • Planning Commission
  • Zoning Hearing Board
  • Good Hope Ad Hoc Committee

Residents who would like to be considered can apply through the township’s volunteer portal.

Hampden Township also keeps applications on file for future openings, ensuring interested residents are considered as vacancies arise.

Lower Allen Township
Openings exist on the following commissions and committees:
  • Civil Service Commission
  • Planning Commission
  • Pension Committee

The township welcomes new volunteers year round. Due to limited openings and long appointment terms, positions may not become available immediately, but submitting interest helps the township identify future candidates.
