Recognizing National Apprenticeship Week 2023

Nov. 15, 2023 / Embed

It's National Apprenticeship Week and we are celebrating the many opportunities available to better equip and educate our workforce. Earlier this week, I stopped by SECCO Electric in my district to learn more about its apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship programs. I'm always glad to support great opportunities for our future workforce and leaders! These programs are also strong economic drivers.

House Republicans Achieve Tuition Freeze for State-Related Universities

Oct. 31, 2023 / Embed

Since June, House Republicans have been standing firm for students and families, demanding a compromise on funding for state-related universities. On Oct. 31, those efforts finally came to fruition when the House voted to approve funding for the universities after a pledge tuition would be frozen for the academic year. The tuition freeze, coupled with the House passage of House Bill 1556 to increase transparency for state-related universities, is a victory for students, families and taxpayers alike.

We need to Protect Pennsylvania's Natural Gas Industry

Oct. 30, 2023 / Embed

On Oct. 30, the House Environmental Resources and Energy Committee held a hearing regarding House Bill 170, a Democrat bill that would substantially increase setbacks for drilling natural gas wells. While the 88th District does not have drilling, we certainly have engineers who work hard to support the energy industry in Pennsylvania. Natural gas must be safe and environmentally protected as it is a leading industry in the Commonwealth that provides family-sustaining careers. The ideas put forth in House Bill 170 are bad public policy that would negatively impact our natural gas industry.

The Need for Compromise, Good Government

House Democrat leadership is missing opportunities to work on and advance important legislation for the fall. We need to compromise for the benefit of the Pennsylvanians who elected us to serve them.

Senate Bill 224 is Not Good for Our Counties, Constituents

Oct. 05, 2023 / Embed

Senate Bill 224 was amended in the House Appropriations Committee after 11 p.m. on Oct. 4, so members did not have adequate time to review the updated legislation, and the public could not vet or scrutinize the bill. We need to pass strong public policy, not rush through legislation that would have made significant changes to election code while our constituents are in bed.

Rep. Delozier Comments on Higher Education Funding

Jun. 26, 2023 / Embed

Pennsylvania taxpayer dollars come to Harrisburg, and it's our responsibility to ensure they're spent the right way. One of the things they're spent on is higher education, yet higher education costs have gone through the roof. Further conversations need to happen to hold the line on tuition for Pennsylvania students and families.

Amending House Bill 1108

Jun. 22, 2023 / Embed

On June 22, I offered an amendment to House Bill 1108 that would update existing law to provide additional accessibility for both partners in a divorce to reach a settlement that allows them to pay their bills. This is a bill I've introduced in the past, and I'm glad to continue advocacy on this issue.
