HARRISBURG – After several months of seeking increased transparency and tuition freezes for students enrolled in the Commonwealth’s state-related universities, the House Tuesday voted to approve their funding request for the 2023-24 fiscal year, bringing the state budget one step closer to completion, according to Rep. Josh Shapiro has vowed to veto his own budget priority and campaign promise, Lifeline Scholarships, the bill is not yet at his desk. Additionally, other budget-related bills, including funding for our state-related universities and code bills, which direct the spending of appropriations, still need to be passed.
