Delozier Announces Grants to Bolster School Safety, Mental Health in Public Schools
August 13, 2026
HARRISBURG – Rep. Sheryl M. Delozier (R-Cumberland) today announced the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) approved grants to bolster school safety and mental health support. Several public schools that serve students in 88th District, as well as Capital Area Intermedia Unit (CAIU) 15, will benefit from the grants.
“Earlier this year, the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) announced its grants for non-public schools. Today, I am glad to report that public institutions in the 88th District will receive these important grant dollars,” said Delozier. “Ensuring student safety and access to mental health is part of a quality education that will help prepare today’s students for the challenges of tomorrow.”
The following grants were awarded in accordance with grant guidelines for public schools:
• Cumberland Perry Area Career and Technical Center, $70,000.
• Cumberland Valley School District, $542,251.
• Mechanicsburg Area School District, $303,743.
• West Shore School District, $424,300.
• Reach Cyber Charter School, $70,000.
• CAIU 15, $70,000.
As a former member of the PCCD board, Delozier added that she appreciates the work of the staff for distributing these funds.
The funding from this grant program may be used to help address school violence, improve student mental health and bolster school security, including costs associated with the training and compensation of security personnel.
Questions about these grant awards can be directed to Delozier’s office at 717-761-4665.
