Delozier: Hampden Township Awarded Grant to Upgrade Traffic Signals on Wertzville Road

HARRISBURG — Hampden Township has been awarded a $312,500 grant through Pennsylvania’s Green Light-Go Program, according to Rep. Sheryl M. Delozier (R-Cumberland). This grant will support critical improvements to traffic signal equipment along the Wertzville Road (Route 944) corridor.

The funding will allow Hampden Township to modernize and upgrade traffic signals at six key intersections:

• Wertzville Road and Lambs Gap Road.
• Wertzville Road and Good Hope Road.
• Wertzville Road and I 81 southbound off/on ramps.
• Wertzville Road and I 81 northbound off/on ramps.
• Wertzville Road and Valley Road.
• Wertzville Road and Orrs Bridge Road.

“These upgrades will make a meaningful difference for the thousands of residents and commuters who rely on this corridor every day,” said Delozier. “We appreciate the support of the Green Light-Go Program, which enables us to invest in safer, more efficient intersections and ensure our infrastructure keeps pace with the community’s needs. Hampden Township has seen significant residential and business growth in recent years, and these improvements are an important step in strengthening the roadway network that supports that progress.”

The Green Light-Go Program provides state funding to municipalities for traffic signal improvements, including equipment upgrades, retiming, LED conversions, and technology enhancements aimed at improving mobility and safety.
