Delozier Announces State Grant Funding for 88th District Projects

March 18, 2026

HARRISBURG – State Rep. Sheryl M. Delozier (R-Cumberland) today announced five state Local Share Account grant awards that benefit projects in the 88th District and Cumberland County. The investments will enhance recreational spaces, ensure accessible facilities for residents and strengthen public safety.

“Investing in our local parks and community centers, as well as public safety and food distribution resources makes better the places where families and friends come together. These projects will help ensure our shared spaces remain safe, welcoming and accessible for everyone who calls this area home, as well as deliver food to residents in need.”

The following grants have been awarded:

• $214,285 to construct a new pavilion at Adventure Park in Hampden Township. The project will replace an aging facility and include installation of an accessible walkway and paving of a parking area. These improvements will expand the park’s ability to host community events, recreational activities and family gatherings.
• $107,142 to replace the roof at the West Shore YMCA in Hampden Township. The improvements will address structural concerns, prevent leaks and ensure a safe and functional facility for the thousands of individuals and families who use the YMCA.
• $123,000 to replace outdated and non-compliant playground structures at Wass Park in Lower Allen Township. The project includes the installation of two new play structures, each designed for different age groups, as well as a new wood carpet safety surface.
• $107,000 to Cumberland County to purchase body-worn cameras for use by sheriff’s deputies and officers at the Cumberland County Prison. The new cameras will help ensure the safety of both officers and community members.
• $21,784 to purchase refrigeration equipment which will be used to store and distribute perishable food from New Hope Ministries to Cumberland County residents.

“These awards will have a meaningful impact across our community.” Delozier added. “This is a strong example of what we can achieve when we work together and invest in the place we call home.”

The funding was awarded by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA). State law provides for the distribution of gaming revenues from Category 4 licensed facilities through the CFA to support projects in the public interest within host counties.
