Delozier Announces Safety, Accessibility Grants for Mechanicsburg Borough
February 10, 2026
HARRISBURG – State Rep. Sheryl M. Delozier (R-Cumberland) today announced that Mechanicsburg Borough has been awarded two grants through Pennsylvania’s Automated Red Light Enforcement (ARLE) Grant Program. The funding is aimed at improving pedestrian safety and modernizing traffic infrastructure.
The grants include:
• $114,806 to install Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFB) and replace pedestrian crosswalks at the intersection of Williams Grove Road and Broad Street. These upgrades will enhance visibility and safety for pedestrians crossing this busy intersection.
• $579,879 to implement Leading Pedestrian Intervals (LPIs), upgrade non-ADA compliant pedestrian push buttons, and retime the downtown closed-loop signal system to accommodate these improvements. This project will make Mechanicsburg Borough more accessible and safer for all residents and visitors.
“These investments reflect our commitment to safer streets and walkable communities,” said Delozier “By upgrading signals, improving crosswalks and ensuring Americans with Disabilities Act compliance, we’re creating a safer environment for pedestrians, while also reducing crashes and improving accessibility. This is an ongoing effort, which I am proud to support and advocate for, in our rapidly growing communities across Cumberland County.”
The ARLE Grant Program funds projects that improve traffic safety and mobility across Pennsylvania.
