MECHANICSBURG — Veterans and active-duty military personnel from the 88th Legislative District are invited to join Rep. Sheryl M. Delozier (R-Cumberland) for breakfast on Thursday, May 30, to honor their military service. The theme of this year’s breakfast is “Veterans’ Families.”

The event will begin at 8 a.m., with doors opening at 7:30 a.m., at First Church of God Community Center, 201 E. Green St. in Mechanicsburg.

“It’s truly an honor to host this event to pay tribute to veterans and active-duty military personnel in the district,” said Delozier. “This year, we’re calling special attention to veterans’ families. When a soldier, sailor, airman or marine serves, so does their family by keeping their home life running smoothly while the service member is defending our liberties. They too deserve our recognition and thanks for that important work.

“As always, I am looking forward to seeing many familiar faces at this event and seeing our local servicemen and women enjoy a time of fellowship together as we thank them for their service.”

This year’s guest speaker will be Alyssa H. Holstay, Esq. Alyssa is the founder of Selfless Service, a community support and assistance organization for military families, law enforcement and first responders that is active in Cumberland County.

Attendees will also hear from Pennsylvania Treasurer Stacy Garrity, a retired U.S. Army Reserve Colonel. Among her many responsibilities, Treasurer Garrity works to return unclaimed property to Pennsylvanians. That includes over $4.5 billion in cash, but it also includes priceless military medals. Since taking office in 2021, Treasurer Garrity has returned more than 410 military decorations to the veterans who earned them or their families, including 10 Purple Hearts and 3 Bronze Stars.

Attendees are asked to RSVP at or call 717-761-4665.
