Delozier: Grants to Bolster School Safety, Mental Health for Local Schools
HARRISBURG – Rep. Sheryl M. Delozier (R-Cumberland) today announced the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) approved grants to bolster school safety and mental health support. Seven schools in the 88th District will benefit from the grants.
“I am glad to see seven schools in the 88th receive these important grant dollars,” said Delozier. “Ensuring student safety and access to mental health support betters the quality of the education they receive. Safe schools where mental health services are readily available set up our students for success in the classroom and well beyond it.
“As a member of the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency’s board, I appreciate the work of the staff, as well as the members of the School Safety and Security Committee, for distributing these funds.”
The dollars awarded in this announcement, as a second installment, complete the $120 million school safety grants program package approved by the General Assembly in the 2024-25 state budget. Delozier added that funding for mental health programs ranks among her top budget priorities.
The following schools which serve students in the 88th District received awards:
• Cumberland Perry Area Career and Technical School, $70,000.
• Cumberland Valley School District, $285,395.
• Mechanicsburg Area School District, $185,568.
• West Shore Area School District, $240,457.
• St. Joseph School, $17,500.
• West Shore Christian Academy, $75,000.
• Trinity High School, $3,520.
Questions about these grant awards can be directed to Delozier’s office at 717-761-4665.
