Delozier Recognized with Policy Leadership Award
HARRISBURG— Rep. Sheryl Delozier (R-Cumberland) was presented with a Policy Leadership award from the Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI).

“It is an honor to be recognized for my record of introducing and supporting good policy that impacts our HVAC professionals. The heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, refrigeration (HVACR), and water heating equipment industry in my district and across Pennsylvania deserves our full support,” said Delozier. “Listening to industry professionals and adapting legislation to best fit their needs is an integral part of my job as a state representative, and I am glad I could help this important industry.”

Last session, Delozier sponsored House Bill 2079 to update the Uniform Construction Code (UCC) to allow certain refrigerants to be classified as acceptable alternatives to hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) under the federal Clean Air Act. The bill, having positive environmental and economic impacts was signed into law by former Gov. Tom Wolf in November as Act 123 of 2022.

Delozier’s bill resolved a conflict between a technicality in Pennsylvania’s Uniform Construction Code (UCC) and a federal law concerning the Environmental Protection Agency’s required refrigerants.

In addition to reducing greenhouse gasses emitted by HFCs, more jobs could be created to fill the emerging market for newer refrigeration products and technology because of her initiative.

Any questions about this legislation or any other state-related issue can be directed to Delozier’s district office at 717-761-4665.
