Delozier to Host Annual Car Seat Safety Check on Sept. 9
HARRISBURG - Rep. Sheryl Delozier (R-Cumberland) will host a car seat safety check on Thursday, Sept. 9, from 4-7 p.m., at L.B. Smith Ford, 1100 Market St., Lemoyne.
Local law enforcement will be on hand to ensure child safety seats are properly secured in vehicles. Parents and caregivers also will be instructed on the correct installation procedures.
“Vehicle crashes are a leading cause of death for children ages 1 to 13, so it is important to have a properly installed car seat to protect a child. This event is a great opportunity for families to be assured their seats are properly installed by trained personnel,” Delozier said.
Pennsylvania law requires all children under the age of 4 to be fastened in a car seat while riding in a vehicle. Until the age of 2, children must be rear facing. Children ages 4 through 7 must be in an approved booster seat when riding in a vehicle.
Registration is not is needed for those attending the car seat safety check.
