During National Child Passenger Safety Week, I hosted a car seat safety check and damaged license plate replacement event. Many residents of the 88th District took advantage of these free services which were provided in conjunction with certified car seat technicians and local police. Ensuring a car seat is installed correctly dramatically decreases the risk of injury and death for children in vehicle accidents. Having a clean, easily readable plate keeps drivers in compliance with state law. AND our communities are all the safer for it. Thanks to everyone who participated!
On Sept. 22, the House Judiciary Committee approved House Resolution 279, which marks October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month in Pennsylvania. I have sponsored this resolution for many years as domestic violence awareness and support for survivors remain critical topics in the Commonwealth. I am proud to continue my fierce advocacy for victims, and I appreciate the bipartisan support of the committee.
I recently participated in a panel discussion with Pennsylvania Legal Aid Network and fellow statewide Clean Slate advocates. The message was clear. Clean Slate opens doors to change lives for the better. By sealing low-level, nonviolent felony convictions after 10 years without recidivism, we can give deserving Pennsylvanians a second chance and unlock new opportunities.
The 2025 Little League World Series (LLWS) has wrapped up. But, before the fun ended, I made a trip to Williamsport to support the best in youth baseball. The LLWS provides a phenomenal experience for players, families and fans!
