Biography

Prior to being elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, Sheryl worked in many facets of state government. Her background starts at the Auditor General’s office, then she was part of Gov. Tom Ridge’s transition team, continuing on to the Ridge and Schweiker administrations and most recently with the Public Utility Commission (PUC).  In the Ridge and Schweiker Administrations, Sheryl worked to cut the cost of state government by directing the implementation of cost-cutting measures, streamlining and eliminating duplication in the agencies overseen by the governor.  She completed her tenure as the director of Gov. Schweiker’s Office of Public Liaison working with more than 700 boards and commissions to which the governor appoints members.  Most recently, Sheryl worked for a commissioner at the PUC working on water, transportation and consumer issues.

Sheryl is a graduate of West Chester East High School and the University of Delaware where she earned a bachelor’s degree in political science with an emphasis in domestic government. She continued her education at the Open University of the Netherlands, where she studied international business in European markets, and at the Pennsylvania State University, where she earned a master’s degree in management in business administration.

An active member of her community, Sheryl is a member of the Republican Women in Government, New Cumberland and Camp Hill Republican Women and serves as a county committee member for Lower Allen Township 5 in Cumberland County.

In her spare time, Sheryl has been a longtime volunteer for the Area M Special Olympics, as well as the YWCA of Greater Harrisburg where she works on behalf of victims of domestic violence and rape. Sheryl also helps out on the Highland Elementary Parent Teacher Organization and serves as a Sunday school teacher at St. Stephen Episcopal Cathedral.  In addition, Delozier was elected to serve as honorary board member on the Keystone Area Council Boy Scouts of America Board of Directors; and also serves on the Messiah College Presidents’ Leadership Council.

Sheryl is married to Christopher Delozier and they have two children, Benjamin and Allison. They currently reside in Lower Allen Township in Cumberland County.
