Delozier to Chair Executive Board of Key State Financial Aid Provider
February 21, 2021
HARRISBURG – State Rep. Sheryl Delozier (R-Cumberland) has been appointed to serve as chairman of the executive board for the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA).
“This is an honor and capacity in which I am delighted and humbled to serve,” Delozier said. “PHEAA is one of our country’s leading providers of financial aid services and works for millions of students and thousands of schools through a variety of student aid programs. It is not a responsibility I take lightly.”
PHEAA operates in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Education under the Federal Family Education Loan Program or FFEL Program. The grants and loans issued by the agency can be for college or for education at a technical or trade school.
“The executive board plays a key role in essentially helping make post-secondary education - both collegiate and career and technical affordable for students across the country.” added Delozier. “We are also charged with being good stewards of taxpayer dollars which fund the financial assistance we provide. As board members, we must expect a lot of ourselves because our constituents are expecting a great deal from us.”
Questions about this or any legislative issue should be directed to Delozier’s district office at 717-761-4665.
