HARRISBURG – State Reps. Sheryl M. Delozier (R-88) and Thomas Kutz (R-87) and Sen. Greg Rothman (R-34) will host a community-wide document shredding event for residents of their House and Senate districts who reside in Hampden or Silver Spring townships. The event will be held on Saturday, May 11, from 9 a.m. to noon in the Kohl’s parking lot at
6444 Carlisle Pike, Mechanicsburg.
The legislators invite residents of Hampden and Silver Spring townships to partake in this free service.
“It’s time to do some spring cleaning, making it a great time to safely dispose of documentation containing private and personal information that could be used by fraudsters looking to obtain passwords, Social Security numbers and other sensitive information,” said Delozier.
“We are pleased to be working with Hampden and Silver Spring townships again this year,” said Rothman. “This event will help residents of both townships protect themselves against identity theft by providing a safe, secure, and convenient way to dispose of personal files.”
There will be a limit of five boxes and/or bags per household. Paper that has already been shredded, three ring binders, plastic, carbon paper, metal, food wrappers and blueprints will not be accepted.
The event’s supporting sponsors are Pennsylvania American Water, Waste Management, Westy’s Beer Distributor and Cumberland Valley Insurance.
