Delozier Continues to Return Unspent Funds
12/20/2018
HARRISBURG - Rep. Sheryl Delozier (R-Cumberland) today announced that she returned more than $25,000 in unused legislative expense account funds from the 2017-18 legislative session, which ended on Nov. 30. This was the fifth consecutive legislative session from which she has returned money to the state.

“Ever since I was first elected to office, I have worked diligently to be a good steward of the taxpayers’ money,” Delozier said. “It doesn’t matter if we have a budget surplus or not, it is important to be as fiscally prudent as possible, while still effectively representing the people. I remain committed to scrutinizing all spending decisions carefully.

“I am proud to have an outreach event every month, hold two annual town hall meetings, send two district newsletters a year, and provide regular email updates, while keeping expenses in check,” she added. “I remain committed to constant communication through Twitter, Facebook, emails, meetings, community events and my annual Veterans Breakfast.”

The expense account funds are allotted for each session and typically are used for items like postage, mailings, office operations, district events, constituent outreach and services, and office supplies.

Delozier uses a variety of cost-savings outreach tools to minimize expenses, such as providing frequent email updates, as well as state-related updates on her Facebook page and website to save printing and postage costs. She also sends one of her bi-annual newsletters electronically.

The 88th Legislative District in Cumberland County includes Lower Allen and Upper Allen townships and the boroughs of Lemoyne, Mechanicsburg, New Cumberland, Shiremanstown and Wormleysburg.
