Upcoming Events in the 88th District
Identity Theft Prevention – Shredding Event
Protect yourself from identity theft by bringing discarded documents containing sensitive personal information to my free, on-site shredding event on Saturday, Sept. 8, from 10 a.m. to noon, at the Capital City Mall. There is a limit of four bags or boxes per household. No businesses, please. Examples of items you may want to bring include bank and credit card statements, tax documents, insurance claim forms and anything that lists a Social Security number. Staples and paper clips are acceptable. The documents received are securely shredded by a truck on-site provided by Tri-State Shredding.

Car Seat Safety Check

Due to requests, I will be holding another car seat safety check on Thursday, Sept. 13, from 4-7 p.m., at L.B. Smith Ford Lincoln, 1100 Market St., Lemoyne. Local law enforcement will be on hand to ensure that child safety seats are properly secured in vehicles. Parents and caregivers also will be instructed on the correct installation procedures. If you have any questions, please call my district office at 717-761-4665.

Rep. Delozier in the Community
• Cumberland County Drug Treatment Court held a graduation ceremony earlier this month. This special court provides participants with a chance to get treatment for their addiction(s), while addressing their associated legal problems. This is a good opportunity to help participants move onto the path for success. In addition, earlier this year, Cumberland County became the first county to start an opioid-focused court.

• I attended the first annual West Shore Community Unity Day at Lemoyne Memorial Park on Aug. 18. The event included children’s activities, entertainment and information about resources to fight addiction and support services. It was great to see the community come together for a day of fun.

• Members of the West Shore Senior Center recently toured the Capitol. I had a chance to meet up with the group. I hope they enjoyed their visit!

• Last week, I attended a state Capitol news conference focused on addressing escalating fatal incidents that are jeopardizing the lives of our Commonwealth’s dedicated corrections personnel. My remarks after the event are available here.

• In the aftermath of the Pennsylvania attorney general’s shocking and disturbing grand jury report on child sexual abuse within the Catholic Church, I attended a prayer vigil at Baughman United Methodist Church in New Cumberland. The six churches in the borough came together for this night of prayer for the victims.

• The Cracked Pot Coffee Shop held its grand opening last weekend. The Upper Allen Township business, located at 130 Gettysburg Pike, Unit A, is staffed by foster children who have transitioned out of the system. More information about the business is available at

• This week, the West Shore Chamber of Commerce held its annual Luminary Awards Luncheon, which honored female professionals in two categories. Two residents of the 88th Legislative District were finalists. They were Chelsea Wurster of Quality Digital Office Technology and Kathrynne G. Shaffer of Messiah College.
